>>11355341nootropics don't work long term. most supplements don't work long term either, and the ones that do can be gotten through diet (vitamins, minerals, micronutrients).
diet should be something that makes you feel good and healthy day after day, week after week. depending on the person, it could be keto or not. in general, the bigger the animal, the better. and land animals are better than sea animals. dairy can be good, and raw or fermented is better than plain. and full fat better than skim. but dairy has a very high calcium:magnesium ratio.
but the most important things are mental and physical health: so chronic stress, fulfilling relationships (romantic, friends, and family), fulfilling work, a hobby or time to relax, physical activity (exercise and not being sedentary), and getting sunlight and fresh air.
>>11355422fish oil isn't a good idea, because it contains a ton of polyunsaturated fat, which humans don't need much (if any) of. a low omega 6:3 ratio is good, but you should aim to lower your omega 6 intake rather than increase omega 3.
your body should produce melatonin at the right amount at the right time. don't fuck with it.
galantamine is a cholinesterase inhibitor, and drugs/medicine are not a good idea long term if you don't have a specific disease.
I think this is a good rule for supplements: if you can't get it from red meat/organs, don't bother. this leaves things like protein, creatine, taurine, carnitine, beta-alanine (carnosine), and all minerals and vitamins. All of these micronutrients have been well researched and have minor, but significant, benefits. Protein for building and maintaining pretty much everything in your body, creatine for the brain and anaerobic muscle performance, taurine for the brain and heart, and beta-alanine/carnosine for the muscles.
