This is my interpretation of the double slit experiment. I don’t believe in superposition and parallel universes. I think the particle behaves like a wave simply because of quantum ripples in spacetime. Note in my crude diagram how the particle is “pulled” towards the convergent lines where the quantum ripples intersect. In this way a particle behaves like a wave but its still just a particle. The quantum ripple is created from the initial energy used to project the particle from its source
