>>11351796Psychology isn't supposed to be a hard science. Logical positivism was disproved centuries ago, so it would be stupid to demand that everything adhere to the empirical scientific method. (This is conveniently ignored because of the split between science and philosophy) I think the mistake is that we've tried too hard to make psychology scientific. It's gotten to the point where everything under the sun is the result of some sort of trauma or insecurity, and the solution is to be pumped full of pills that have a good chance of doing nothing but hurting you.
