>>11350516Even if we'd assume best case scenario and ignre the thousand ways for the government to screw it up and a thousand ways for private companies to profit from it or circumvent it, UBI wrongly teaches people that rewards come without action, you'd have a population full of spoiled brats that expect to get it all without any input. It's the killer of ambition. Experiencing effort is a requirement for people to grow sound even if the effort is small, that's why a government should create a framework that supports effort and not trigger dependency.
If you plan for the government to pay people you might as well give them any kind of work for that payment. There are always things to do, whether it's cleaning streets, recycling trash, watching the border, neighbourhood nightwatch, planting trees, plowing fields, doesn't matter but people must keep doing something so that people never once think you can get away with doing nothing.
