>>11348510Apparently the closest you'll get to real-time fractal zooming & animation at present is when combining a program that uses Open CL to do its floating-point calculations, with a compute card that implements it, or a graphics card that doubles as a compute card, or originated as one, like the Radeon VII did. I still haven't established whether any of the available software uses double precision in compute cards capable of it, or in what ways the possible calculations are limited in scope in exchange for the speed of parallelism--as opposed to the slower but far more open means of CPU calculations. Or for that matter if any such thing can be done, or has been done, via CUDA. I'm in the process of building a system specialized for generating fractal imagery at the closest I can get to interactive speeds (within a budget of 2-3K), so any protips are most welcome. It doesn't hurt, of course, that any such system would be potent at video editing and much else, so there's my excuse.
