I'm not sure if the term "pacemaker cells" was ever used. If I had an ebook, I would type in this term and quickly see if it was. I read a print copy, which has since been returned to the library.
I sort of glossed over the electromagnetic portions. I was only interested in the immunology and protein portions of the book, which was maybe less than 2% of the book.
I do recall reading though that people who consume high amounts of sodium (most Americans) need more potassium. Both "sodium pumps" and "potassium pumps" were mentioned in several chapters. As were calcium pumps. The electrolytic properties of these pumps were discussed.
The word "pacemaker" was used. I don't recall if the chapters that used this word covered the cellular level. In terms of images, what tended to predominate was images similar to EKG machines, which everyone is familiar with.
