I'm sure Einstein and tesla regularly consumed coffee, just like every other normal adult in modern society. Their genius has little to do with their caffeine consumption and more with their genetics, background and unique situations.
AFAIK there are long term consequences but they only arise if you are seriously fucking addicted and become the caffeine equivalent of a coomer. It might sound funny, but it's easier than you may think to become addicted to caffeine, especially since it has physical rewards(more work done) not just psychological rewards. Some people feel that they cant get anything done without a buzz.
