Chemo kills you. It just so happens to kill cancer cells at slightly faster rate than your healthy cells.
We haven't found a cure for cancer till we can reliably treat all types of cancer. There are still some where survival rate is <.5% And overall survival rate is only about 70%.
You wouldn't say that antibiotics are a "cure" for infections, if they only worked 70% of the time.
Source: My dad died of lung cancer. He was a non smoker. That kind that has <.5% survival rate. He was young, so his treatment lasted for 2 years.
