I'm planning on transferring there after I complete my GE at my community college in San Diego. Unfortunately, my parents got fucked over by the 2008 recession so we were not able to move to Los Angeles. We recovered what we lost here in San Diego but sadly I just couldn't afford to go to SDSU.

So far I've gotten a 4.0 GPA first semester and am on track for transferring to a 4-year University in a year from now. What makes you stand out in UCLA that'll surprise the admissions' office? Would I have to play the victim mentality to get into UCLA if all else fails? (Aka "Muh first generation college student and Mex rights")

Chico State (Online). Profs are good but a little too busy and seem to have a worse work life than a community college professor, and my fellow students in my online program seem to not have been trained well at their community college or they simply don't gave a shit about their program and just got C's to get the degrees; no wonder so many people stay with an Associate's in their entire lives and it pisses me off that so many don't realize how great they have it nor they use their college's resources.
Hope I'll graduate in 1.5 years desu.

From what I heard, yeah.
But if you happen to have more than 3.8+ GPA in your community college and perhaps participated in the student government (i.e. being leftist as fuck but with conservative values), you'll definitely get a spot there.
Also, the ADTs are starting to take over the UCs by the way, so this can also give you a chance to get in as well.
