Is progress being held back because we allow science, engineering, and CS students to student only children's math? It would seem that allowing such laborers to play in the playground sandbox of quantitative knowledge is the easy way, but the consequences in terms of development are huge. They can spread their misunderstandings of mathematical topics anywhere and everywhere, so for our own safety all quantitative majors should be required to double major in Mathematics.
