So why don't we create some kind of locust slaughtering machine?

Clearly people are too hesitate to eradicate pests completely via genetic engineering because of muh foodweb (see mosquito), so why not some sort of locust slaughtering device? Giant bladed fans for instance?

Because more locusts = less food, which means less people to send trillions of tax dollars in aid when we should be taking care of our own.

When the swarm has managed to grow it's already too late. The only way to stop them is to prevent them from forming in the first place with the help of natural predators, traps, chemicals etc.
The only thing they could try to do now is try to steer them into nets, catch as many as possible and turn them into food for chickens to reduce the losses.

There's no way to eradicate pests completely, or we would have done it. Trying to spray a specific pest fucking destroys the entire environment.

Yeah but, the speed at which it can traverse and the idea is to make the holes big enough so some of them go through and avoid splitting up. Then all you need do is thin the swarm over and over again.

Two could hold 40 kg for 20 minutes.
The average fishing net is 7kg for 45kg of fish.
This would be a strafe of 100kg if CAUGHT. But since we are erasing them in sheaves and frying them, we can assume a cylinder of roughly 20 times the amount every strafe.
So.

2000 KG dead locusts per strafe with the size of the largest swarm being 27,500,000KG.
You would need to strafe 13750 times to clear them out...made even more profitable as fertilizer. Each strafe lasting between 8 minutes. Max flight time 20 minutes.

This is with an average fishing net sized shocker. 2000KG per strafe is mighty profitable though. Depending on what you do with that many locusts.

Aside from giving money and control of government to Israel, foreign aid is actually about economic and political return. The aid will find it's way in government bribes, funding a multinational corporation's mining ventures, destroying domestic industry so it can't compete with foreign, etc. When you see promotion of foreign aid it is invariably towards these ends. Putting money into something always has an impact, even purely humanitarian well-intentioned funding (probably doesn't exist anywhere) will have consequences that may not be good in the longrun.
