What's your opinion on HRT and gender transitioning in general? Studies and factual proofs to help validate your points are appreciated.

A friend of mine (used to be not retarded) came out as trans after heading to uni (pic related). He refuses to acknowledge the plethora of studies that suggest HRT is a sure-fire method to cause dissonance between your XY chromosome and estrogen symptoms, causing you severe mental stress. I don't want to see him kill himself, so good studies on the topic would be helpful. Unfortunately, it seems there are almost none since anything suggesting HRT is bad would get your grant funds revoked.
