Tsunami risk is also negligible for SF and that's the best way to cause massive damage. PNW is the real place that's fucked if the big one occurs. The magnitude could hit 9, which is huge. The coast will be absolutely fucked, both from the tsunami and shaking. Further from the coast in the valley, power will probably be out for at least a month. Some places will be inaccessible except by helicopter because the roads will be gone. A large number of buildings are not up to code because they were built before we new it would be a problem. Portland might become almost post apocalyptic because a number of roads and bridges will collapse. A big fuel responsible for much of the region's fuel will probably go up in flames near portland too, making the recovery difficult.
