Other sterilized places have a similar pressure, but it's not to the same degree.
Antibiotic exposure in general creates resistance. For example India has one of the highest rates of resistant infections because they hand out antibiotics (particularly 3rd and 4th tier antibiotics that are supposed to be reserved) like candy.
