For this coronavirus there are 2,794 confirmed cases currently. Of which 80 have died and 54 have recovered. In terms of the total amount of current cases only 2.9% of them have died. In terms of the amount that have either recovered or died (134), a total of 59.7% have died. Why are they already suggesting a mortality rate of 2-4% when clearly 2,660 infected people have yet to either die or recover and the smaller sample suggests a mortality rate much higher than that?
