i'm pretty sure most physics undergrads like these topics too, for the same reasons. quantum mechanics is a foundational piece of modern physics, and superposition (and its thought experiment, erwin's cat) is a kind of "cool" topic that are mind-bending to child-brain undergrads and premie-brain normies.

popsci is about feeding the masses what they crave for -- a brainlet level explanation of real topics. so it's no wonder that terrible explanations of this stuff exist all over the web. because you can't actually explain equations to preemie-brain normies. they demand not thinking about equations so they fail even to attain baby-brain understandings that undergrads get

So you keep looking, it gets worse and worse, then you find out about the Vatican's quantum research lab, and how the Vatican has the world's largest optical telescope and has a funded team of astrophycists and mathematicians and other "scientists" who are putting out hundreds of thousands of quantum mechanics papers to use quantum mechanics to "prove" that God is real.
Then you find out about situations like Jacob Barnett getting a PhD at age 12 and writing a paper that proved god was real. And that is mother was insane and delusional and was essentially his handler, and he was used as a tool for her to force her views on the world.
And you find out the same thing happened to Stephen Hawking.
That all his work was co-written.
He was just a vegetable they where wheeling around like the arc of the covenant.
And how Hawking was in a Christian cult etc.
It's the hardest 4chan pill to swallow brothers, but Quantum mechanics is a hoax.

I went to university.
I studied QM.
I tried to build a quantum computer.
We discovered it was all a hoax I would compare to the money pit if the elusive "water fueled car" phenomenon of the last half of last century.

Man it's literally called "theoretical physics" it has the word "theory" in it.

There is no proof that light is ever a particle. It is always a wave.
Light is perturbations or "ripples" in the background electromagnetic radiation that permeates the observable universe.
Electrons induce this radiation by interacting with this electromagnetic field, as the are negatively charged.
The twin slit experiment proved this.
All the other twin slit experiments were done on electrons, which exhibited a wave and particle interference pattern as a result of electrostatic discharge building up on the apparatus, the scientists knew this and fabricated their results to get a noble prize for quantum physics (no quantum=no prize) so they fradulantly applied this fake wave-particle duality of electrons onto "photons" which also don't exist.....

Man that's a broad topic, but basically the wavefront of a wave form compresses and reaches a higher energy state than just the total energy in the system.
It's analogous to phonon vibration, it's the reason you can see stars as tiny points of light, only the direct front of the light wave hitting your retina has the energy to ellicit a perception of light, you know the Doppler effect? How the front of the sound wave is a higher frequency than the source waves behind the sound source, the waves compress and reach higher energy states, it's also kind-of like how water will evaporate from a glass at room temperature, because the top layer of water molecules isn't attached on 6 sides to other water molecules cohesively, so it's boiling point is significantly lowered, as the top layer of water is only molecularly bonded on 5 sides.

Anyway the tunneling is because the wavefront of the electron as it "hits" the insulator, the front of the waveform compresses and it can overcome the resistance.
Despite not technically having enough energy to jump the energy gap.

I'm not going to spam the thread with heaps of links, just look up Jacob Barnett, and while you are at it, feel free to not believe this. But Jacob Barnett's mother (handler/trainer) adopted a young Ukranian orphan and then claimed it was a full grown adult woman with proportionate dwarfism and abandoned her at an apartment and fled to Canada.
The dad was in on it and everything, also it's the exact same plotline from the movie "orphan" she claimed the little girl was trying to murder her family.

She is an insane Christian trying to use Jacob as a tool to manipulate people into Christianity. All Jacobs work was trying to disprove relativity etc. It was controversial, then just memory holes and now he is just a random kid.
There is more to this than you realise but what do you think they have been doing at the Vatican quantum research lab lol.

It took me about ten years of trying to crack quantum computing before I realised.

Just as a consensus, how many years are we going to put incredible amounts of time, money and effort into quantum computing before you will admit it isn't real?
