I have $400,000 in the bank. How do I best use this money to ensure the survival of me and my family from the Wuhan Coronavirus? I have nieces and nephews that are babies and toddlers. It's my duty to ensure that they don't contract this disease, because as you know they would have a high probability of dying.

The two options I've considered:

1. Call up my sister and brother and tell them to quit their jobs and stay in-doors, and I'll pay for their living expenses. They'll have food shipped to them and dropped outside their front door. They're to wear gloves and a mask when they open the door and bring their food in. Then they're to wash all the products they've received and dispose of the gloves and mask.

2. I buy/rent a farm and we all live on it, living only off of what we grow. Nobody leaves and nothing is allowed to enter the property until the epidemic plays itself out.

The thing is, I don't even know if we'd be able to learn how to live entirely off of the land within the short time that we'd have; before the disease has already spread everywhere.

#1 is do-able but not 100% safe because they would be receiving products from the outside world. #2 is much more expensive and less practical but is 100% safe.

Which do you think I should do, and what other options are there?
