Human knowledge is still very limited in the context of how much is unknown.

Probably. The problem with the lack of knowledge is that we don’t even know what we don’t know.

Maybe in Newton's time but we have now pretty much discovered everything of value.

I think that becomes pretty obvious when you consider how limited our intellectual capacity really is, and how slow and limited we are for many cognitive tasks. I very much doubt we are going to be able to progress lot much further in many natural science fields till we get to the point where we can augment our intelligence either through biological modification or by the creation of AI.

We have not even left our home planet

Perhaps.
But while we've barely scratched the surface of exploring the universe, it's difficult to tell how far along we are in physics.
We might be nearing the end of what's knowable in physics, or there may be whole new fundamental forces to discover and explain, new branches like GR nd QM awaiting our discovery, or maybe not.
How would we know?
Same applies to math, I guess.
