Science and religion are not mutually exclusive. In fact, there may come a day where science proves religion is correct and we may one day find scientific proof of the existence of god. Perhaps ..... or maybe not. Who can know.

i am agnostic, but i try to keep up my cultural engagement in the catholic church by going for christmas and easter. i do the prayers and take communion but at heart i am a complete materialist because i believe in science. the main reason i still do catholic stuff is because i believe it is a good and basically immortal institution that keeps catholic culture together and functioning and reliable. at least moreso than my american government which seems to be at risk of collapse thanks to orange man

Its just the most logical state. When you try to understand the universe it doesnt make sense wothout a creator who is omnipotent and omnipresent. By those same qualities you cannot judge god based on human logic (like retarded shit like maths or scientific method) but yeah you cannot prove his existence neither so being agnostic makes sense.

Obviously Im talking of God as a creator, not the meme religion guy painted as God.

I doubt there will ever come that point. Proof of God would necessitate worship, and necessity of worship would undermine the "choice" aspect in Faith. Anyone in witness to God could do naught else but bend their knee. God would obviously not force a relationship onto those that deny Him, so proof will never be concretely revealed.
