Yeah, that's the standard at my company. A lot of different kinds of engineer start around the same, after five years you can expect to be between $70k and $80k depending on the breaks.

Mech engineer bachelors has gotten me fuck all thus far. I had to get a very irrelevant job at 45k/yr in Georgia at first, then I got a 55k/yr job that I got fired from in 3 months and now Ive been a super depressed neet with family problems and no will to live for like 5 months and have no idea how to function in society anymore. Go electrical or something.

one of the guys I work with in the electrical eng. team is a mech eng. the photovaltaic engineer is also a mech eng. A friend of mine works for tesla and he's a mech eng. There are lot of options for mech. eng; manufacturing, semiconductors, energy, mechatronics, etc... its really up to you to figure out if you want to go through with the program.

I think they design chemical reactors. They know a bit about the chemistry but mainly focus on how the reactions happen and how to make them efficiently happen at an industrial scale.
