Why didn’t multicellular life evolve so that every organism has hermaphroditism? I mean, it makes sense that a species where any individual is capable of producing offspring with any other individual of the species is better equipped to survive disasters that decimate the population, right? Heck, why don’t we re-engineer humanity to be hermaphrodites? What would we need to do?
