Essentially what it means is that, in the context of the function, you can turn divergent inputs of the funtion into convergent ones. The reason its such a mindfuck is that the RH is a completely valid logical assertion, but it's pretty much "beyond numbers".
Think of it like this, what if I told you that the sum of all real numbers is equal to -1/12? Obviously this is completely false, but in the sole context of analytic continued parts of the Riemann zeta function, this is true. Mathematics doesn't like this, you can't prove something under axioms which don't apply to the problem at hand. Essentially any proof of the RH will have to be non-linear in a way, as in we'll never be able to take the Riemann zeta function itself and pop out the answer, never.
