If those ships are real things (alien or otherwise) and not just holograms or CGI, then that means (an assumption but a solid one) that those things operate within the same natural rules and constraints that we do. Rules that we are unaware of, but could hypothetically divine and exploit ourselves
If e=mc2 was viewed with regret by Einstein and Oppenheimer ("I am become death, destroyer of worlds"), and pushed the world into fear on nuclear war and annihilation, then wouldnt the e=mc2 equivalent formula or discovery (ie great leap forward for science) that allows these craft to exist be orders of magnitude more powerful than e=mc2? Would a group of people who knew how to exploit this unknown (hypothetical) formula want to prevent it from becoming widely known so as to prevent potentially assured destruction?
Nuclear war is bad, but the energy required to do this shit could turn a whole continent into slag could it not?
