Doesn't matter what I'm doing. I get overwhelmed from reading articles or trying to play a video game with friends, just like I get overwhelmed taking a class or doing paperwork. Any of these things makes me feel immensely stressed and then like I need to sleep, fighting to keep my eyes open.

It's especially bad while driving. Have had a few accidents and countless near death accidents when driving on the highway. Had to quit my last job because of that.

Sounds more like NARCOLEPSY which is a good indication for the medications of ADHD: METHYLPHEIDATE, AMPHETAMINE SALTS, MODAFINIL.

GOOD sleep hygiene is necessary.

If you have no cardiovascular issues or symptoms of a mental illness with psychotic presentation and rule out sleep apnea then YES ADHD medications are necessary, but NO you do not have ADHD.

Also make sure you are not abuse other drugs, weed, or alcohol.

Have had a sleep study done years ago, been feeling this way for 10 years now. Since I was 16. Been to so many doctors and specialists and this never seemed to occur to them.. in 2013 for a few months Wellbutrin made all these problems go away and I functioned better than I ever had.

It stopped working though and hasn't worked on any subsequent attempts. I don't want to take stimulants but it really seems like my only choice left.

don't worry about the stimulants, they aren't that bad, and you probably only need a baby step dose like 18-27 mg concerta at worst. Fluoxetine (prozac) could be a good antidepressant to try as well because it is the safest of all the drugs longterm.

After all, the underlying cause might just be a mood disorder and prozac will clear that up while also being a mildly stimulating antidepressant, on the mind, but not systemically.
