I was able to calculate that 100mg is in 0.256 mL of stock solution. Do I just take that amount and fill up to 1mL?

Let c1=390mg/ml and c2=100mg/ml
Let V be volume of C1 liquid and X of what we need to add to get c2.

V[ml]*c1[mg/ml]+X[ml]*0[mg/ml]=(V+X)[ml]*c2[mg/ml]
Notice that both sides are [mg] after cancelation.
V*c1=Vc2+Xc2
X=V(c1-c2)/c2
You can see that you need to add 2.9 as much distilled water (I assume) as the volume of concentrate.

Sanity check, you have 390mg/unit, later you will have 390mg/((1+2.9)*unit) which is 100mg/unit.

Here's a retard proof hint to solving these problems: you need to have same amount of active component on both sides, but different volumes. Given that amount is basically concentration times volume, even a fucking retard who can't remember the equation can derive it effortlessly on the go.

You're welcome faggot. Again, most of these chem problems can be made retard proof by deeper understanding, ie HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT (CONCENTRATION TIMES VOLUME) ON BOTH SIDES.
Generalised case, available in literally any chem book since middle school, goes the same way.
