California May declare Acetaminophen a carcinogen.

I’ve noticed some news stories today which claim that California is to declare acetaminophen a carcinogen. From what I understand, a few studies have found some positive correlation between Acetaminophen use and certain types of renal cancers as well as leukemia. However there are many more studies which have failed to show any correlation. What do you reckon this means for the drug going into the future? Will this cause the public to take on a negative view of the drug? Will we have to phase out Acetaminophen altogether in favor of other NSAIDs? Will this just blow over? I think if Acetaminophen were to be particularly dangerous we would’ve known by now; it’s not like this is some niche drug... everyone takes this shit... and it’s safety and efficacy has been proven time and time again. Personally, I’ll just use ibuprofen until more research gets put into the matter. NSAIDs as a whole also just kind of seem like overkill to me, if the pain isn’t intense enough to warrant real analgesics, why bother?
