There are greater or lesser variations allover, some parts, in fact most parts are highly inhospitable for human life or simply extremely resource starved to the point where only subsistence living or living with external support are possible. Most of the surface is covered in water, which humans are not well optimized to live in. It is already significantly challenging for humans to live in 90% or more of Earth's available environments, to the point where as soon as we had the mental capacity we started to build our own environments instead.
