Hello /sci/
I really need help with a question for a final lab tomorrow. The question is,
(You will prepare a 1/5 dilution of serum or plasma in saline using a sample cup. You will use a semi-automated pipette to complete this procedure. The minimum volume inside a sample cup is 200uL and the maximum is 500uL, therefore the total volume of your dilution must be within 200uL and 500uL. Determine the amount of solute and diluent you will use to make your dilution)
I'm a bit confused as to what the teacher is asking in this question, because typically we've been asked to calculate dilutions, but now they want the amount of solute and diluent? I converted my given min/max (200uL-0.2mL and 500uL=0.5mL), but now I'm stumped as to where to go.
Please if you could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
