Are there any long term studies into SSRI use? I have used them for over ten years and don't know if half the shit i'm going through is due to them

anxiety and agoraphobia. came off them gradually but relapsed badly. currently all I feel is tired, sensitive to light and have derealization which I fucking hate

if i dont take sertraline even one day i feel really weird sensation in my bad, my head does not exactly hurts, but its like "pulsating" i dont know how to describe, you just feel something "inside" your skin on head temple, and if you touch this place you stop feeling it for a moment if that makes sense. This feeling can be pretty strong, for example you cant sleep because of that

Basically. You have to reduce the dose very slowly. Cross-tapering onto another SSRI such as Prozac that has very long half-life might also be beneficial before trying to reduce the dose down to nothing (shorter half-life SSRIs such as Effexor seem to have the worst brain zaps when reducing dosage).

The effect size of SSRI over placebo is statistically significant but still quite small. Antidepressants in general are not all that effective on average, but they are prescribed since they're better than not taking anything for most patients.

Nearly all antidepressants have gone generic and price and profit margin has plummeted. There is little financial incentive in trying to get more patients on antidepressants.
