Just started Khan academy with Algebra I. How long will it take to finish all the math there and will it get me ready for Engineering majors?

Dumbass here. Khan Academy lessons are quite good as they explain the concepts very well. My main problem is their layout on the site sort of sucks.

I know it depends on how much time i put in it but i want to be serious about this and master math and physics. I was wondering if it is possible to reach Calculus III and Linear algebra levels by August.

I don't think so. You might be better off with books if you are that worried about speed. You want to make sure you retain what you're learning though. Khan may not be the fasted way. But it's one of the best for understanding why you are doing what you're doing. Why the hell do you need calculas 3? That's already higher than most colleges require for engineering. If you can put in 12 hour days and still manage to maintain focus and motivation maybe? But i'm doubtfull.

No, that's pretty unrealistic. I think it naturally takes time to pack stuff in to your mind and digest, unless you're literally a genius. I'm pretty smart and didn't have trouble with any math classes but I know I couldn't have done it all in 8 months

Well i'm already at an Electrical Engineering college and i'm falling Calculus and Linear Algebra hard. It's kind of different where i live though... I have calculus only on my freshman year (Semester 1 and 2) but it's not named Calculus 1, 2, 3 etc.. I did calculus (like integrals, limits, derivatives) in high school too, i was pretty decent but college difficulty hit me hard. I realised that i have holes to fill, i'm not exactly a total noob who never solved an integral before but i want to start fresh and maybe get ready for the exams in August.

Wow. That sounds kinda hard. I think you would be better off with books. The thing with Kahn is, the o/r/ganisation of the website lesson plans and instructional video format doesn't really lend itself to skimming through to find what you need quickly. If you're lucky you could find some good pdfs somewhere! Also a tutor might be good if you can do that!

I say do it if you're interested, man. I did the same. I basically went through all that khan academy has to offer, and did some extra practice from books I picked up in a store. I went from primary school level math and no physics to actually starting a physics major in 7-8 months, and admittedly I'm only slightly smarter than average. All it takes is dedication.
