it's just like old physics. when Maxwell discovered classical EM it was "so hard bros, so advanced, the math is crazy" for all the experts. but now undergrads learn it as a basic thing. because it has been distilled to its essence.
OTOH, QFT and SUSY and high-level physics is still tough because not enough time has gone by for it to be distilled. so that's my opinion, fwiw
