Light (and everything else) is a wave. Particles are still quite amorphous. They are decidedly not billiard balls, but are still quite diffuse. Despite all the specificity and concreteness that is still possible in the face of this, objects and change over time are continuous and it is virtually impossible to draw truly discrete boundaries.
