When I read a rather complex text I need to understand, I subvocalize my reading (use my inner voice) and go no faster than 200 WpM.

I feel if I went faster, I would not be able to get the abstract meaning and important details into my head.

Do you have any advice on becoming a faster reader of scientific texts?
