>>11311756NLP has a lot of bullshit straight from, or rather because, of the source. The material comes from Richard Bandler and John Grinder when they studied a psychologist or family therapist Virginia Satir in a book titled The Structure of Magic: A Book about Language and Therapy. First book I ever memorized. There is no doubt why all the pseuds picked up on it and why a mythos developed around it. I haven't picked up the other books yet, there are a few more. I am stuck as to whether I want to continue down the path or go with Chomsky.
While there is some talk about Chomsky and a Transformational Grammar it is more of a rationale or justification for the possibilities in the book. This is mostly because they assume syntactic choices are made in sentence structures revealing underlying subliminal perspectives. Anybody on the internet knows syntax is just memes so it isn't cut and dried.
I wonder some other aspects of the book are about basic logic which may have been a new thing for psychology of that era, but reasoning is something baked into their foundations and dates back to the Greeks so I doubt it.
This is all irrelevant when you are talking about millions in public spending. Mom and Dad get the cookie jar and they do whatever they want with it. It won't help the police force except for those that find inspiration to dig from a seminar.
