Contrary to popular /sci/ opinion, I think that brain is quite an adaptive organ and if you surround yourself in good environment where you're challenged, you will grow. I'm now full-time physicist employed in national lab. and just some odd years back I was doing menial labour in factory and didn't even have a high school diploma.
