I'm two years into a PhD and I'm just realising I really should have picked a different field. I thought it was fun at first and I really liked my supervisor and it was easy to get into but now I realise I have no real passion for it.

Should I just drop out and apply somewhere else (preferably overseas) in 6-12 months, or just power through it and hope I get an interesting post-doc position? Almost all students from my group went on to decent post-doc positions, so this isn't impossible.

Anyone else gone through something similar?
