Does anyone have experience using an iPad to read and study from university textbooks?

I currently use physical books, and i'm attracted to the idea of cheaper e-text versions, and I also like the idea that I can have 150+ lbs of books all inside an iPad.

I'm worried that the learning experience will be lower quality. Does anyone have experience with this?
