What does Omega-3 (particularly DHA) even do in your body?
All sources say it's good for membranes in your brain but it never actually states that it is necessary or just ideal.
I find it quite odd that something claimed to be the super god-tier mega lipid that makes your brain super good and if you don't eat it you eat shit and die, cannot be produced readily by our bodies at all.
I can understand something like Vitamin C, since it is present in basically everything, but something as specific as fatty fish, nuts and specific seeds doesn't quite add up to me, considering that all studies are contradictory.
Is it actually really necessary or can the brain compensate somehow? Or does it just slow down brain development but not necessitate permanent deficit?
