A close friend of mine just got offered a seat to study undergrad Physics at the University of Oxford, and he currently already has another local offer for a double degree in computer science and mathematics. He seems genuinely passionate (and has been for the whole of high school) about wanting to contribute to academia and pursue a Ph.D. in nuclear physics, but is worried more about the STEM job market and whether he'll be better off with CS + Math. Should I convince him to stick to physics(what he loves) and potentially risk being unemployed in an oversaturated market?
