What are the best, worst, and weirdest smelling chemicals that you have encountered?

Best: isopentyl acetate. A very pleasant banana candy smell. Its sweet like rose extinct gros Michel bananas, not like the slimy Cavendish bananas in stores. This ester smells so good that you could huff it all day.

Worst: butyric acid. In small concentrations its decent, like parmesan cheese. But straight out the bottle, it's vile and sick. like vomit, body odor, sweaty feet, old dirty socks. The smell brings back memories of food poisoning. Putting the bottle up to your nose makes you gag.

Weird smells: 1-octanol. "Sweet and penetrating" you cant tell if it smells good or bad.
