The first thing you need to dispel from your mind is the assumption that on a biological level, most modern people were allowed to achieve anything remotely approaching their potential. It's not strictly a matter of pathological psychosocial conditions, education, cultural decay and distractions, people are literally brain damaged and subjected to a battery of IQ reduction techniques. People don't want to look because both you, and I, are products of this. who wants to believe that they aren't the best they could've been, and that society is ritualistically structured to do it us, by design?
And yet, it remains. Our generation was given a massive burden. It has nothing to do with fields or low hanging fruit.
