Because of the industry cows are subjected to a harsh routine of growth hormones and antibiotics in order to maximize production.
Some of those chemicals are in the milk and they react with the human organism.
Of course there are regulations for the concentration of these chemicals but the industry in USA is very unregulated with low to none goverment oversight so there is bare minimum incentive to ensure quality of the product.(if it is tested the margins for whats good are way above what should be legal because some agreement was reached between the goverment institution and the industry 50 years ago and you know law its very difficult thing to change)
In EU is different and there is strict controls on whats ok and whats a no no.
