Psychologists of /sci/, I have two questions for you.

1. Is there any data about what percentage of the adult population who, generally speaking, hate or refuse to lie? If everyone was bribed with $1,000,000.00 to tell an exceedingly trivial lie and had to maintain that lie for the rest of their life 24/7, what percentage of the population would be inclined to do that?

2. What percentage of the adult population could convincingly do so? That is, if they were analyzed by a team of experts and had a polygraph examination done to them, could they all convincingly pull it off? Or are some people simply bad at lying convincingly?

Any data or studies that analyze these kinds of issues would be deeply appreciated.
