What are some self-teachable, useful skills for a STEM major and why? Something that will boost your skills and make employers go :O
I self-taught Python, HTML/CSS and Phonology. Python surely attracts attention for an Engineer and webdesign skills is always a good addition; of course, phonology, a humanity, is totally ignored.

Game theory/Behavior economics. Don't waste your time on mathy side, just read concepts and look at examples how it can be implemented in real world.

Fuck pajeet webshit. Python, C/C++, and if you're EE/CE VHDL or system verilog. Verilog if you want to do some crazy computer engineering bullshit. Python is just useful in general for simple shit. C/C++ because you don't want to be the one guy who doesn't know. Concepts are good to know, but make sure you can actually apply them.

Also, to show off your skills to an employer, list off projects vs skills. It's away to start interesting conversations and it's proof that you actually know something. Otherwise how would they know?

In computer engineering learn:
Docker
Docker
Docker
Go
JavaEE (or similar, know what a factory is and then simply never use it)
Front end (whatever framework shouldn't matter. if it's js, you should be able to produce good code in it within 1-2 days of learning the framework)
Back end (Micro service structire)
Pub/Sub structure (tries into docker)
Clustering technology/Kubertnetes

Above all tho, from my experience, learn how to learn. And also: you'll go a long way from being well groomed, polite, nice and easy to work with.
