Is regenerative dentistry possible? would it be more likely to see the regrowing of entire teeth, or to regrow tooth material on a healthy living but incomplete tooth as an alternative to fillings?

there's always a market for the super-rich. imagine surgically implanted tooth buds cloned from your own tissue, they spend a year growing and you have the teeth of a 16 year old again. all for the low low price of $199,999 per tooth.

As someone with an implant, not really. It doesn't give the sensation of a normal tooth. You take it for granted, but your natural teeth can actually feel things. An implant is totally dead. So yeah, it'll never hurt and it's probably stronger than a natural tooth, but it's a downgrade in quality of life overall. Also it cost $3,500 start to finish.

There have already been successful studies with lab grown teeth with rats (produced out of their body) but it's still impossible to determine what tooth specifically is going to grow (could be a molar or an incisor or a weird undifferentiated tumor like tooth). Not only that but it's not convenient enough to do it on humans (teeth only are formed during the embryonic stage and by a child growing up so you can't just make a tooth out of nowhere). Even if you could do it it would be pretty expensive and unpredictable (teeth are organs made of human cells with blood vessels and nerves arranged in a very specific way so your chances of getting a tumor or get some disease if you tried it on a person would be high).

They could just make a lab full of teeth and then you go and check for a fit, much like you'd look for a pair of shoes or a pair of glasses.

Of course, this is a enormous oversimplification, but that's what I pictured when they said "grown teeth."

it has been done already, however I imagine the final product or procedure will be many times more expensive than even implantation, it will probably be out of reach for most people, funny, because regular middle class people are usually the ones who need it most.

Enhances remineralization. I brush my teeth with a paste of baking soda and raw cacao occasionally. I don't know how much theobromine actually goes into solution with the water, but I imagine it's at least some.
