I was just fucking around with a NiMH battery in my basement and accidentally left it near some foil, when it discharged some stinky gas and got very hot, so I ran upstairs and threw it outside.
I'm looking now and seeing that the gas was most likely hydrogen.
I'm in a basement with eh ventilation, there's a drafty window by me and a door to outside.
There's also a WWI cannon heater pic related right next to me.
What are the chances that the lingering hydrogen will eventually hit the flame in my wood stove and explode the basement after a few hours? Hydrogen and Oxygen is an extremely flammable mixture even at tiny amounts. I know the hydrogen will first pool at the ceiling, and then slowly crawl down the corners, but, I mean how many will really make it to the flame? A couple dozen little molecules? is that even enough?
