unironically you should read about it it's an interesting subject. In This situation the equilibrium would not be to fight until there's only one left though as fighting wouldn't give the best result under all circumstances

The reason we haven't really had a huge war in a long ass time is because mutually assured destruction. There's some explanations for this in game theory but it's a stretch to say it's causative.

Game theory is mainly used as a pseudo-rational justification for being an asshole. It comes in an 'a priori analytic' - suit when it really is just heuristics.

If you look at the times there ha been "false flag" nuclear attacks you can see a retaliatory nuclear strike is only a threat that needs to be credible enough so that an enemy never chooses that route.
