I'm a freshman in public research university perfect for my field. I have a little undergrad research under my belt already, but am always trying to get more chances to distinguish myself. Talking to staff and grad students has become a tedious numbers game and often ends in a rain check.

Got this email today. Kill me bros. Why is this a thing? Science isn't a platform for expression so why does it matter which undergrad is crunching the numbers - or more likely - cleaning the equipment.
