From south to north the 4 tallest buildings are the the Sears, the Aon, the Trump and the Hancock. This is not a straight line as the Sears sits far from the shore, but viewing from due east (from a boat) the Trump and Aon should sit right about in the middle of the Sears and Hancock.
Clearly from OPs pic, there is only 1 tall building in the middle, and it's skewed to look closer to the Hancock.
Ok, maybe it's an old pic before the Trump was built. Except the Aon has a square flat top. In OPs pic there's clearly some bump.
But if you rotate the view such that the Aon were in front of the Trump, the pic makes sense. And not only would you be viewing the full distance between the Sears and the Aon/Trump, but a compressed distance to the Hancock.
That view would put you roughly in Gary Indiana, about 20-25 linear miles from downtown.
