I would consider my physics degree a powerful accessory to my self-taught computer programming skills. You can be as muscular if you want, but if you don't learn how to fight, you're gonna lose a fight. Give yourself a weapon for the job market. And for God's sake, don't do the bare minimum during your degree. You should stand out to at least half your professors. Easiest way to do this is office hours with good questions.
